Reaching One's Dream by Jannie Reid
Once there was a girl named Eya who grew up in a poor but happy family. But one day tragic news came that would change their lives forever. Her father had an accident and died. Her fathers death made life hard for Eya and her family. It also created in Eya a desire that she would carry in the coming years of her life;that is to fulfill her father's dream of a better life for them. As years passed, Eya strived so hard to be one of the honor students in their class because it is her dream. She did her best in order to be successful.Because of being poor, her mom can't send her to school. But because of her intelligence, she got a scholarship in the religious school named NDSC.She did everything so that she can't lose her scholarship in that school. Her highschool life in NDSC is not so fun unlike the others. She's always crying when she gets home and it makes it hard for Eya.Her classmates treat her as a nobody. They always bully her.But despite that, she never lose hope. She always think that all her doing is for her dream and for her family. In her mind,it's just a challenge for her in order to survive in that life. Four years after, she survived. She graduated in NDSC as a valedictorian. Her family is so proud of her in all her achievements. Since she was a valedictorian, she got a scholarship again in UP. She strived so much in order to survive in college. Then she made it. Years later, her dreams came true when she graduated as a CPA in University of the Philippines as a cum laude.Countless tears coming from her eyes are now falling. She can't believe that she has done it.She survived! After a few months, she took a board exam. Then she passed it.She's top 3 among the hundreds of examiners. After a year she got a job in the U.S.A. as an Accountant of the biggest bank there. Now she can't believe that her dream for her family came true. Her life now is better than the past. And she lived happily with her own family.
